Eliminate Neck and Shoulder pain FAST,With a Tennis Ball

Hey, this is Keith Scott from Back to Form fitness and that is my dog Jersey right over there playing with a tennis ball. Today, I am going to take a tennis ball, probably not that one and I’m going to show you a little bit how exactly to use a tennis ball to eliminate pain. I got a lot of request about using other things rather than the back knobber and the foam roller and a lot of people do not have access to those things.

So, we can take a simple little tennis ball and work on a lot of pain for areas around the body and get rid of them and eliminate pain, and it works really well. So, sit back and relax. I am going to try to get that ball back from the dog and hopefully get another one, and I will show you exactly how to do that.

This is Keith Scott from Back to Form Fitness. I just came in from outside. I have a couple of tennis balls on my hands and these are new ones, not the one that the dog had. And, what I am going to do is like I said outside, I am going to show you how exactly how to use a simple thing like a tennis ball to help you get rid of neck pain, shoulder pain, and some areas of the body, I am going over too.

A lot of people do not have access to the back knobber or foam roller right now. Although, I do recommend you to go out and get those things. You can use a lot of household items, sporting equipment or things like this to really get rid of your pain. So, what I am going to do—here is Jersey again and she probably wants these balls but what I am going to do is to show you a couple of little techniques that you can do to get rid of pain around your neck.

What you are going to do is get an old sock or a new sock. We are just going to use the sock here. Put the tennis balls inside the sock, real simple. And what you are going to do is put this inside the sock and get them close together. Keep them a little bit separated. You should have this ready to go. And, you are basically going to put them a couple inches apart, it all depends on the size of your head or neck. I am going to show you a technique to get rid of neck pain.

A lot of people out there complain of neck pain. And if you say you never had neck pain ever in your life, you are a liar. Everybody has neck pain. So, if you and neck pain or you got stiff necks during the day, I showed you how to do some things in your before.

Well, I am going to show you how to tap the actual neck and the muscles around your neck. Most people who do not know how to deal and get a lot of pain and stress and tension way up by their head. This little technique can help eliminate. It is like having your home masseuse right in your own home. So, you are going to take the tennis balls, put it in the sock and you are going to tie the sock in a knot, something like that, just give them a couple of inches apart.

What you are going to do is you are going to place these tennis balls right at the base of your skull right where the neck and the skull come together, and you are just going to get a little bit underneath. And there are two things you can do. In the beginning, you can just kind of roll it, up and down, put a little pressure there, right at the base of your skull, spread the balls out a little more if you need to.

And the second alternative method is you can lie down and just put some pressure, up and down, against these balls right on that area of your neck. And this really digs at those knocks and those spasms in that area. It is almost like foam rolling, you are just going to roll your head and neck right on these areas, apply a little bit of pressure up and down, back and forth to both sides. And that really helps eliminate a lot of the pain and tension in the neck itself.

Another thing you can do, I have a sock out to help you with shoulder pain. I am just going to show you all of these at once so forgive me if these videos are jumbled. We are going to spread the balls out a little more; we are going to remove this knot. Again, I have a bigger back, so if you have a smaller back, you are going to make them a little bit closer together. And what we are going to do is to put this between shoulder blades, right on the soft part of the muscle and I am just going to come up, and I am going to roll and put a little bit of tension. And, I do not know if you could see this on the video but I have all of my tensions right over the muscles between my spine and my scapula. I am going to do a little hug, hug myself and put a little pressure on this. That’s going to spread my scapula apart, and it is going to expose all these muscles and the knocks and this is a real effective way of just doing some targeted soft tissue work on those areas.

And spend a little time on those, spend a little time on your neck and you are really going to see a big difference with these, okay. So, if you have any tennis balls, or if you do not, go and get some. It is a really good way to eliminate pain and get rid of some of these things. You want this?
