When spoofing an email address the first step is to find the main server of the email address that you want to spoof. To do this, you can go to website which centralops.net and you can use their Domain Dossier tool which allows you to investigate domains and IP addresses. Type in your domain up here and select DNS records then click go. You want to find the one which says MX and the exchange mail server. You know lot of things have many mail servers such as yahoo mail and you can see that they are all here. And so, I am going to use my own mail server, screencastr.com and as you can see the MX is here and the exchange is screencastr.com.
Okay. So now, what you need to do is go to Start, Run and type in cmd and hit okay. Then type in telnet to startup telnet, and press – type O for open then type in the mail server, mine is screencastr.com then type in the point and this is always, always .25. Press enter and it will connect you to screencastr.com.
Okay. So now, we are connected to the mail server. And the first thing to do when we are connected is to type in the “From” address. To do this, we type in MAIL FROM, colon and no space here, we type in info@screencastr.com; that is accepted and we go to the next one which is the “To” address. RCPT TO, colon and I am just going to put on the sides, other@screencastr.com. Okay that is accepted as well.
Now we need to type the body of the message. So, you type in DATA, press enter. And now before you do that we have to put in the To and From addresses again so they come up in header of the message. So type in To, colon, space this time and then other@screencastr.com. New line, we type in From, colon and info@screencastr.com. Now, we type the message and I am just going to write, “Hello. Message Body” and be careful not to make mistake—send because you cannot back spaces this. And now, you go to a new line, put in just a dot and new line and then the message has been sent.
Here, you can see the message that we just sent from info@screencastr.com and all the heading information is intact and it even has the mailed by as screencastr.com.
