Bartender Beginner Flair Moves | Behind Back Toss

What is up with you guys? James Wedmore here with the Bartender for Profit system and in this video, I am going to teach you my favorite tricks.

This is the behind the back toss. Like always, we start with our classic flair bottle and simple hold it in the regular grip and I can have it down in my side whenever somebody orders a drink, I just toss it up and catch behind the back and I can do anything from there.

I can go into my port whatever, but that is the trick right here. It is starting down in your side, throwing it up, catching it and bringing it in around.

So, I mean I have done it where I have tossed it way up in the air, you can do it where you do a flip behind it, you can do double flip, all kinds of stuff. So basically, let us go into this trick a little bit more and see how I did this and how quickly and easily you can be doing it yourself and you are next bartending guy.

I start within in my right hand, just like this in the standard for just two or three fingers on is all you need and really what you are going to do, and this is the real trick is that if we are standing parallel with the bar, you are going to cheat a bit and take your right foot or the same foot that is next to the bottle and put that forward at 45 degree angel.

So now, you are standing at that angle like this to your customer, that way it makes it easy for you to catch it behind the back because your shoulders up more.

So basically, we are going to toss the bottle up, straight up just like that and the other hand, the left hand is going to be rested right on your belt from right on your waist. And you simply toss it up, and it will right in the hand just like that. I know it is hard to see because the bar is blocking in, but we can do it again for you, and you just kind to watch it with your eye, see how it is going and catch it just like that.

It is that simple but like I said, we can toss it way up in the air just like that. I can do a double flip bring it around, going to anything else. The other great option I like, I mean you do not just have to limit to the bottles, we have our shaker here and I am pouring a little bit of liquor in there make it somebody’s cocktail for them.

Shake it up a few times, bring it around. Shake it up a few more and then we pour in to the glass, they will enjoy it.

So that is behind the back toss, it is really simple and is really fun to do, so go ahead, start practicing that within shaker, bottle whatever and that is it for today’s little video, I hope you enjoy it, my name is James Wedmore.
