The first thing you need to do is to tear the strike-a-part from a match box. Then fold the strike-a-part in half and place it in ashtray.

Now let the strike-a-part and burn it for a little while. Place the burnt out straw aside and the brown or yellow residue will be left in the ashtray. Wipe the residue off with the finger and then start to rub your fingers against each other and see the smoke appear.
