Hello and welcome to piano lesson number 23. Yeah!
I have not really posted up a real, actual-like piano lessons since, in month ago, because we had a piano tuning thing and we I went over to the concert and then, well I referred to a lot of stuff and then I was just like, I do not want to do anymore for a little while.
Anyway, so I am back. I got a tripod! I can now demonstrate stuff for I have until like, complain about only been I lose one hand.
Today is going to be an important lesson, probably one of the important ones that you could ever learn. The thing is, it does not have really has to do with the piano. It is all in your brain. Now, some people may think that, what I am going to say, I do not know, anything. Maybe some people might think it is not useful but, from all the experience I have ever had through the piano I would say this information probably the most valuable. This is the stuff that I have learned that is probably help you the most above everything else that you have ever learned. A lot of stuff I did not understand until maybe like ten years, twelve, thirteen years until I actually learned it before I started to understand why it was all valuable and also it came to my attention stuff like that.
So this lesson today is on the mind. Basically, the biggest problem with beginners, were people that do not learn to actually play the piano well is they do not learn to relax their mind. I am going to make this as tough, this is tough, so I am going to make it sound like it is really hard so people be impressed by that. But really, if you re trying to impress people by how hard it sounds, chances are, they are going to think, “Okay this guy is struggling with us!” So, this is just about right above in the ‘Fiscala Muso’. But if you make something hard look easy, that will actually make you a quitter. Can you hear the little ‘crunch’, ‘crunch’, ‘crunch’? Maybe you can.
So, we want to relax our mind. Now, I am going to show you and tell you couple of things that help you this. The very biggest, biggest thing you want to do is, when you first get onto the piano, say you perform something like that or you just want to have a nice session practicing, what you want to do is like close your eyes, breathe deep, like (sighs) “Thank God, it smells good in here.”
You are going to breathe deep. You can just picture something that you like. Something that is beautiful like a sunset, or a mountain top, or grass, or being like playing with grass or water, beach, brooks, or whatever you like basically. Whatever puts you at peace. Think peacefully first, then if you are going to play a song that is like fast, try to get yourself into the mood, bob into the gear.
The main thing you are going to be doing is over and over and over and over tell yourself in you ‘have to this easy,’ ‘play this easy,’ ‘play it easy,’ ‘play it easy,’ toss it off. Just do it easily. Think of ‘how can I make this easy?’ or ‘how can I make this easier?’ ‘What can I do to make it easier?’ Just keep saying this over and over and over and over. You can stress that enough over again into your brain, over and over. You just keep saying, ‘play it easy,’ ‘play it easy,’ ‘play it easy.’ Eventually, what your body will do is, actually start playing things easier and then at all, not being tired.
