Basic Splinting For Fractures
Fracture is a break or crack in a bone. It is very important that any fractures should be immobilized to prevent further injury. As you can see, when the fractured area is move there is always a probability of causing additional injury or harm.
The best way to immobilize a fractured area is to apply a splint. Splint comes in many forms. Although in most cases, you can always improvised.
The most important thing is to apply the splint in a manner that will prevent further harm. As a basic guideline, splint the fractured area on the position found. In other words, splint as is. "Do not reposition a fractured extremity or any part of the body that is fractured.
