Male1: Many times, physician would get calls, my kid is making funny sneeze sounds, they call it wheezing sometimes, but snoring sounds—what is that?
Male2: Babies are nasal breathers. They breathe mostly through their nose and they do have relative blockage out of their mouth, as it does, they tend to breathe more from the mouth than from the nose, so babies make a lot of snoring, wheezing sounds and so on. These are mostly nasal sounds and they are quite normal. They actually get worse even in the winter times, during dry seasons and so on because babies do need a lot of moisture for breathing, so moist air is extremely important. So during the period of time, especially with the ensuing winter now, when we start heating our apartments, supplying humidification is extremely important so that the babies will minimize these types of nasal sounds which distress the parents more than they actually are a problem.
