How to Make a Balloon Flower

On this video you are going to learn how to make a balloon flower.

Now, a balloon flower is something you often see. It is really cool and really easy, but yet very, very challenging. I got a lot of balloon professionals that have a hard time creating equal and nice petals for the flower. I am going to show you the new cool tricks and secrets of the balloon flower.

Now, what you are going to need, a balloon that will create the stem. Leave about two inch apart. On the top of the balloon we are just going to leave that as is. Take about five inches and then we are going to create an S kind of loop. That will create two loops in one twist.

You squeeze the S make sure both parts of the S are equal. Squeeze everything together. And then, you get two loops in one twist. Now, give it a bit of shaping on both sides. You can even bend the stem. This will create the stem for our flower. We put this aside for a minute.

Now, I will show you how to create the flower. There are several ways to create a balloon flower. I will show you the fastest and easiest way. The secret for a balloon flower is to let a lot of air out. You want the balloon really, really soft. So you inflate it all the way and then let a lot of air out.

Now, this is the tricky party. You want to tie off both ends straight at the end of the balloon like so. So, you have the knot straight at the end. But, we do not want this we want half of the balloon and half of the other side of the balloon both having the same amount of air.

So, you kind of squeeze the air so we have equal parts, then you find the center and squeeze of the center. This way you will have two equal parts of the balloon with the same amount of air. This is extremely important to get equal and great looking petals for your flower.

Now, you twist off half of the balloon, and then you have exactly the same or approximately the same amount of air in each part. Then you give it a squeeze, pushing the air all the way to the knot.

Remember, I told you to put the knots at the back really tip of the balloon. This is why. We want the air to fill all of the balloon, to get really, really soft. Now, the trick is to kind of eye ball thirds of the balloon. I do that using both hands facing up and squeezing it with my thumb and first finger.

And then, after I have three equal parts I can kind of measure and then I roll by doing this kind of action to the middle part of our roll. It looks kind of a hotdog style twist. Now, after we have this I do, I take one bubbles put that in the middle like so. And then I take two other bubbles and put that in the middle of the two others.

Now, this part is not necessary but it really helps to put all the knots centered in one place here and here. This part is the trickiest and hardest part to do. But, what you want to do now is hold the bottom part of the knots and top part with your thumb, squeeze it real tight so they touch each other. Then, take three petals and you rotate them against the other three. That will create the petals for you flower.

Look how even and nice the petals we got are. You can arrange them. Now, after you have this, you take the stem, you pull the knot make small bubble, pinch twist the bubble using the knot and then we are placing the last bubble here between all six petals like so. After you have this, you have the flower. You can arrange the flower like this or you can squeeze the stem between the petals to create standing flower. This is the flower.
