Hi, I am Bill Jelen, the host of MrExcel.com and this is Total Training’s Advanced Excel 2007 series. Excel is the world’s most popular spreadsheet. But how do you learn all the amazing features in Excel?
There is probably a good chance when in mid 90’s, someone showed up and replaced your copy of Lotus 123 with a product called Excel and that was the extent of your training. In the survey of MrExcel, of 6000 people, we find that 50% to 70% of people never use powerful features like Pivot tables, subtotals and more.
Now, this training assumes that you use Excel 20 to 40 hours a week and you know your way around. If that is you, climb in and enjoy the ride. You are about to learn how to unleash the power and efficiency of Excel. I launched MrExcel.com in 1998 with the idea of helping people to learn how to get more out of excel. Since then, I have written 15 books abut excel including Pivot Table Data Crunching and the huge Special Edition Using Microsoft Excel 2007. I really mean huge in. It weighs in at over five pounds. I have made over 50 appearances on TV’s Call for Help with Leo Laporte and I am an occasional guest on the Computer America radio show.
With Excel 2007, Microsoft has given us more new features than ever before. This training will look at those features and also the powerful features that you may never have never discovered.
The first lesson is summarizing data. Here, you will learn how to use features such as subtitles and consolidation to produce summary reports. You will also learn how to use the fill handle to make starting new spreadsheet a breeze. Let us get started.
