Make Your Own Scroll Post Earrings

Tools Needed: To cut and shape the wire
Wire cutters Round nose pliers Needle nose pliers
Tools Needed: To harden the wire
Ball pein hammer or raw hide mallet Anvil or steel block
Tools needed: To file the ends
Cup burr or Wire rounder
Tools needed: To straighten the wire
Nylon jawed pliers
Wire Saving Tip
Begin working directly from the spool. File the end with a cup burr, wire rounder or needle file so it is very smooth.
Make a very small loop at the end of the wire.
Center it on top of the wire.
Using your pliers as an aid, wind the wire around the loop to make a scroll.
Complete the scroll. Bend the wire at a right angle to create the post. Cut the wire to create a ½ inch post.
Straighten the wire with nylon jawed wires.
Be sure the end of the post is filed very smooth.
Select earring backs for your new earrings.
Repeat to make the earring mate.
