I was born in England and I've lived in Australia since 1970 after moving here with my family. I am married with 5 children, mostly grown up now, my youngest son still attends high school. I work full-time night shift as a receptionist/clerk/telephonist in the Emergency Department of my local hospital.
I've had one book published called Text Talk, Anagrams and Abbreviations Guide (Australian Edition) published through RoseDog Books.
I love making teddy bears and have a new site called My Stuffed Teddy
I've mostly worked in State and Federal Government positions over the years, but I would like very much to stay home and write.

Trauma Teddies are given out to people who are suffering a traumatic experience. The Red Cross donate the teddies to hospitals, emergency services, police, fire brigades and nursing homes who then give them to people suffering trauma. They are very easy to make.
Tortoises and turtles are reptiles, not your average reptiles, buy very cute reptiles! They are also called terrapins and chelonians by veterinarians. I think of tortoises as being land dwellers, and turtles as water dwellers. Most species are endangered and protected.
Bamboo is a fast growing woody plant that grows all over the world from cold to hot climates and is used to make many products. Large quantities of bamboo are available as it grews very quickly and spreads rapidly. It is environmentally friendly, durable and cost efficient. Most of the bamboo used in products is grown specially on bamboo farms.
How to make a Teddy Bear with character includes tips on making a bear like no other. Bears can be made out of different fabrics and materials. They can be embroidered if made on plain fabric such as calico. Talented embroiderers can make absolutely beautiful bears by embroidering the cut out parts before stitching together.

I would love to make some of these wonderful bears. Why can't I use regular fiberfill as stuffing?I am unfamiliar with the filling you have described for Australia. In the U.S., we use polyester fiberfill for our dolls. Please let me know how to go about making some of these bears to give to the police, La Piñon abuse center, etc. I know they would love to give them to children in need.
