North Borneo dispute refers to the territorial status of northeastern part of the state of Sabah in Malaysia. The Philippines claim the northeastern part of Sabah as part Philippine territory on the basis that that part of Sabah was only leased to the British which was the held power over North Borneo in the late 19th century.
