An important tool that can help parents improve the screening process is personality and risk assessments. Such assessments provide a better insight into the potential caregiver's personality and traits, as well as an indication of possible risk factors.

Emma on Leaving Parents Behind: My Personal Experience Moving Out of My Parent's Home on 5th, Nov 2010

I can relate to your article. I'm only 22, but I'm married, and I have a toddler. My husband lost his job in September of 2009. We moved in with my parents two months later. My husband was unemployed for ten months, and our parents believed that he wasn't trying hard enough to get a job.

He finally found a part time job, but he was only making minimum wage...and my parents started pressuring us to move out. They threatened to kick us out repeatedly. I think that the only thing holding them back is the fact that we have a toddler. My mom has made a lot of hurtful comments about me and my husband...Did your relationship with your parents change after you moved in with them? Did it go back to normal after you moved out?

I envy you because you have already moved out. We still live in my parents' house (It's been an entire year.) My husband just got promoted, but we don't know how much his new pay will be. My mom keeps asking us when we're going to move out. I have to remind her that we need to wait for my husband to get a few paychecks to determine how much we can afford to spend on an apartment. I don't want to leave before we're ready because I don't ever want to be in this situation again.

There's no turning back for me either...Thanks for posting your story.

This is a very insightful article. I've been married for 14 years, but I've learned a lot.

joey on 6 Reasons Why Your Wife or Girlfriend is Bossy on 22nd, Oct 2010

So is mans fault? i mean what? it might be her fault too. man does not do this, man does not do that. she feels this, she feels that. I FEEL TOO but she is bossy she dont care, she wants to controll me just to do it. for example, we where ok at the start, i was man to her (as she said) then after one year i was childish? (i make jokes, thats my character) so man is without jokes?.... and i made jokes at the begining of the relationship.. anyway then after simetime (because i told her something funny i rembrred about someone) she said thats dumb . i said if u dont like the joke ok but dont insult me like that, then she said u act like a woman. i was like (wtf is that)i mean seriusly i could write all night about whatsup. she is never happy whatever i do. she wont sty to talk about it ( i belive she does not want to see her fault ) so we are like that. my biggest fault ever is i cared too much, so from now on... ill change. p.s remember guys, u care too much , she orders u around like puppet,

Let's stick to the point of friendless couples, not personal attacks.

for Leaving Parents Behind: My Personal Experience Moving Out of My Parent's Home on 9th, Dec 2010

People return home for a number of reasons in my case I had health concerns--it happens. Pray it doesn't happen to you. So yes, I am qualified to give advice on the subject since I lived through it personally. Please refrain from personal attacks without carefully reading the material. Notice I had moved out--I didn't stay. Hope this article helps someone who had to go back home to parents.
