I don't think what Mary is asking for is a lot, I'm not sure what she considers mature (does she mean age or attitude?) but at her age I think it would be normal if she dated some one in their late 20's. By then most men and women are beginning to settle down and are abandoning their crude behaviors.

I somewhat understand where 'Mary' is coming from. Maybe her question was phrased differently than her real thoughts. There seems to be a lot of immature people these days, both men and women. For a mature person looking for another mature person, it can be frustrating. Once the mature person meets several people and the common theme is 'immaturity', she or he may end up feeling like the odd ball lol - thus, the questioning if she or he is wrong in wanting a mature person.

I agree that a mature person will learn to choose wisely who they let into their life and who they weed out. Often, this takes experience as well as maturity. Thank you for sharing.

I would have said fine call me when you feel like making time. I would not have called him back. If he doesn't call with in two weeks he does want the relationship and I would move on. That does not mean sit by the phone and wait.

When one person is working the realtionship it is not working. Time to reevaluate as you so aptly mentioned. Good advice to look deeply and then ditch if BF or GF can't keep word. Trust begins at that level. 5*

I don't think there is a pat answer to even the same senerio. I do think communication is vital, so I would have recommended telling the girl something. Of course that is coming from a girl, remember. Calling her and saying "when you are ready for a different kind of date, I have learned something from you that I think you will appreciate." She will wonder what that is and if there is any interest in you in those 6 weeks of dating, she will let you have another chance if you don't take up too much space. Talk and see what she wants. If she wants to call you for a date, reverse rolls. No body reads the same book on relationships. 5*

Yes, this is a difficult decicion once you know they have been cheating. I dated a cheater not knowing it. I gave it many chances to turn around and finally knew he was not willing to settle down. I left, leaving my broken heart. I am still recovering.
