Hi Pixie, Antiseptic properties of Silver ions have been a subject of much debate over the last several decades. Prevention is better than cure but to say ionic silver will prevent the use of antibiotics may not be true in several common situations where Aquacel may be potentially used. I was not aware that even viruses could be a reason for infection in / cause of delayed wound healing. ( Can I have some references for the same. ) Waiting for your reply. Regards, Sujit
