Great tips here. I think it's really important that you've noted that some tax deductions - like the home office deductions - require you to be really careful that you're following the rules about your taxes. I actually think it's worth it to work with a professional tax person at least once to make sure that you're getting the most out of your deductions but not breaking rules that could get you in trouble with an audit.
