Carolyn on Why Do Some People Never Get the Flu? Can You Become One of Them? on 23rd, Oct 2010

I think there may be a genetic predisposition...I'm not sure either of those things are why I don't get sick either...it's just a list of things I do that are outside the norm. One thing we do seem to have in common Janet..we seem to not expect to get sick and we both say "I never get sick" so the one we have in common..mind over matter..is maybe the real reason.

Janet on Why Do Some People Never Get the Flu? Can You Become One of Them? on 23rd, Oct 2010

Well I never get sick either and Im not a vegetarian, I dont drink green tea, I dont meditate, I have never had the flu shot,, I dont take 4000mg of vitamin D-3, etc. I do have a healthy diet, but our genetic make up has more to do with resistance than a cup of tea

Very true and well written. For any relationship to flourish it needs to be both emotionally and physically fulfilling for both partners. If Sex is lacking in the relationship you need to see if you are meeting your partners need for safety, security and love not purely in the physical sense but the emotional as well.

for How to be Happily Married to a Truck Driver on 6th, Jul 2009

Fantastic. My husband is a trucker and honestly, this is exactly right! We've done this and after 8 years we're still crazy in love and plan to stay that way. I have 4 children that keep me busy but it's really hard. The advantage, everytime he's home it's like a honeymoon and we try to make it that way, arrange for that when he's home. It's also really hard to find people who understand except other truck driver's wives. Wonderful article! 5

for Spare the Rod, Just Shoot the Child on 5th, Jul 2009

Without beatings, with love, kindness, patience and tolerence, without a rod, with discipline of a gentle kind, sort of the type i would imagine Jesus would give had he had a family, the kind where there is love and teaching, in that kind of family myself and my two siblings were raised. We are well educated, moral, decent citizens who never saw a "rod". I don't believe the shephards beat the sheep with the rod in the bible, they guided them. Every human has the right to not be physically assaulted and children are humans. Discipline and punishment are not the same thing. One is effective, one instills violence and hatred. The fact is that children who are spanked are actually more likely to be violent than those who are not. I am raising my children in a country where spanking is frowned upon as discipline. We have a very low violence rate compared to other industrialised countries. I think it's because we havent' shown the children that it's ok to hit people who are smaller than they are.
