Rolling Picture Bars
by BKerlin | in Science & Technology > General
The annoying horizontal bars that occasionally show up in CCTV video signals are the result of an ground loop in AC power environment. They may exist in one CCTV installation, but not in another essentially similar one. In fact, the "rolling picture bars" may come and go as heavy power loads turn on and off over time.

Multithreading in VB6
by BKerlin | in Science & Technology > Programming
Contrary to what people may think, multi threading is not impossible in VB6. I have seen many examples of how to accomplish this with C++ DLLs or ActiveX controls, but this is a straight VB6 example. All you need is a single API, few constants and the knowledge to tie it all together.
