I was a technical writer for 13 years, mostly in the medical supply and aerospace simulator and drone industries, I wrote and taught training courses on flight simulators, troubleshooting simulators and heads-up displays. I have 2 college diplomas, and am two credits short of a third, three-year College techology diploma.  I am presently disabled due to spinal cord disease, and am now a chronic pain sufferer, heavily medicated 24/7.

I look to writing for something to keep my mind sharp, and my body busy.  I have won an international journalism award through the Knight Center for Journalism Excellence, and have been published over 50 times in recognizable magazines and web sites.

Unless directly approached by a manufacturer or publisher, there is not much call for technical writing in online venues like Bukisa, Associated Content, Helium.com, or most of the other writer's sites running rampant on the Internet.  With that in mind, I try to vary my writing styles and the audiences I write to, to both stimulate my mind, and to broaden my writing skills.  I am a mentor and steward in another online writing site, and contribute regularly to three others by helping writers to improve their written word.

Whoever said there was no money to be made writing on the Internet either stuck with blogging, or just was not that good of a writer to begin with.
