“Author Bio’s” & Advertising
Recently we have started noticing that people are adding advertisements in the form of an author bio at the end of their articles.
I would like to point out the Bukisa is not an article directory and thus any information about the author and their business should only be placed on their profile page – that is why we have the large section on the left hand side so its easy for a visitor to learn more about the person writing, by clicking through to their profile page.
Also using your articles to advertise your business isn’t something that we condone. As we are a rev-share site we expect our content to be “clean” of sales pitches and advertising.
Again, feel free to use your profile pages as a gateway for yourselves.
This is a heads up as we don’t want to start removing sections from people’s articles.
Thanks for your understanding,
Simon

I agree that blatant advertisements should not be allowed–that is par for the course for content sites. Both HubPages and eHow do not allow self-promotional articles, although you can write an informative article and include your site as a resource.

I saw an article that used a referral link (I don’t remember where it was, though…unfortunately)…if we find these, should we report them or just let them be found on their own?
Also, can we link to external sites (for example, the topic we’re talking about) without referral links?

Hi,
Please report content that use referral links, we don’t allow it.
You are free to add relevant external sources that are not promotional links
