How to Play Facebook Space Wars

Step 1

As with all great space adventures, your progress begins with your first mission. Missions are performed from the first level from the "Missions" tab and give you experience points towards the next level, however they also drain your energy. When the missions have drained all your energy, just wait for the clock to run down and re-fill your energy tanks one point at a time until you have enough to start your next mission. The more missions you perform, the more experience points you earn and the higher skill level you attain. Earning higher levels gives you points to upgrade your different attributes, like energy and shields, which you customize to create your individual profile strength.

Step 2

Along with missions, you will also fight the occasional hostile alien or grumpy fellow commander. You do this from the "Fight" tab. You win more battles with higher upgrades to your shields and munitions, more ships and upgrades and more members in your fleet. Adding members is easy-simply invite your Facebook friends from the "Fleet" tab. You will also find fan pages for the Space Wars and other applications where you can recruit new friends and fleet members. This is important, because the missions require increasing numbers of fleet members to participate and you will reach a dead end without them. Fleet members can be promoted to Squadron Leaders and given "energy boosts" to increase their energy levels temporarily, so give these promotions to your best fleet members.

Step 3

Every fleet and star mission needs ships. After you win your first few missions and have a few fleet members, go to the "Ships" tab and increase your fleet. Make sure you have enough ships for all your fleet members. When you have extra money, you can also add upgrades like Laser Canons and Kinetic Dampeners to increase the success of your fleet in battle and fights.

Step 4

Every fleet also needs financial backing. This is where the "Planets" tab comes in. Here, you can buy everything from Shuttle Bases to Starports that will produce income for you on an hourly basis. The money keeps your shields repaired and ready for the occasional fight you may lose. Which leads me to the next point....

Step 5

....keep your money safe in Digibank. For a small 10% deposit fee, the Digibank keeps your hard-earned Space Dollars untouchable when you are in combat. It's always free to withdraw when you want to buy a new ship, though. The first hint you learn about Space Wars money- deposit it in Digibank BEFORE you begin your Fights...you can still fight with no money and you won't risk losing any. And other captains can fight you even when you're not online, so don't forget to deposit your dollars regularly!

Step 6

Space is a lonely place - so you can bring your pets along! Choose your type of pet and make sure to feed and pet it often, because as long as it's fat and happy, it will help you win battles and even more loot and money during missions.

Step 7

Now that you are suited up, seated in a cool starship with your pet and plenty of energy and money, enjoy yourself! True sci-fi fans will love the graphics and feeling of actually participating in the game. The sky is the limit on levels, so go for it...and live long and prosper :)
