Ghana is the best African footballing nation on earth
The Black Stars of Ghana are currently the best African football nation in the world and they will be looking to win the world cup in South Africa next two years.
While football fanatics from countries like Nigeria and Cameroon may doubt that Ghana is indeed the best African football country in the world, it's a sheer fact that Ghana is better than countries like Egypt, Nigeria, Cameroon and Ivory Coast in regards to African football. Ghana played in the world cup during Germany 2006 but countries like Egypt, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Nigeria actually failed to qualify for the world cup. This shows how the country is a quality one when it comes to football. During the African Cup of Nations in Ghana this year of 2008, Ghana failed to win the competition and their coach left the team after the disappointing results Ghana achieved. It is true that Ghana wants to win the FIFA World Cup in South Africa in the year of 2010 hence Ghanaian players like Stephen Appiah, Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and John Mensah have vowed that they would do their best to qualify for the competition even though the powerful African side faces formidable teams like Mali, Sudan and Benin in group D of the world cup qualifying group phase. While Ghana is expected to win the group, Mali will be looking to upset Ghana with their quality team. Mali cannot be underrated at all because the side is full of players like Frederic Kanoute, and Mohammed Sissoko so things won’t be easy for Ghana as they seem. Since Ghana has a new coach, the team has an ample chance of actually qualifying from this tricky group if the team’s midfielders play their usual attacking form of quality football. If the Ghanaian players play attacking football against Mali as they did against Czech Republic during Germany 2006, then the team will undoubtedly qualify for South Africa 2010 by winning group D of the African qualifying phase of the world cup.
