The Many Uses of the Crock Pot

Crock pots are very versatile. You can do so much with them.

Crock pots are for more than just cooking a pot roast all day while you are gone running errands or at work.

You can use them for keeping appetizers hot for a get together. Assemble it in the pot and you are done.

You can melt almond bark, or chocolate candy coating, and keep it warm for dipping. You could do the same with caramel for making caramel apples.

You can make drinks such as hot cider and hot chocolate.

You can make something for every meal of the day, even breakfast. You can make dessert in your crockpot, if you want to.

Crock pots usually go on sale during the holidays. So, that is a great time to pick one up. But, you can use it all year long.

You can also go to your favorite recipe site and search for crock pot or slow cooker recipes. A lot of sites have a special section just for these types of recipes.

If you prefer to buy cookbooks, you can find them on crock pot recipes.  There is a series of books called Fix-It and Forget-It that is a collection of recipes from cooks all over. Just crock pot recipes.

Crock pots come in different styles and sizes.

You can buy the one that are all in one or you can get them with the removable crock. The removable crock is easier to clean. They are also available with a warm. low, and high dial or you can get the high tech ones with the digital temperature and timer setting.

For sizes, they come in personal sizes all the way up to 6 quart. The personal size is great for appetizers. The larger sizes are perfect for stews and for serving several people.

Crock pots are great for anytime that you don't have time to watch your food.

I have found many favorite crock pot recipes. You will be amazed at how much you can do with one.

I really love that dessert idea for crockpots. I've heard of that before, but never tried it. Thanks for the great info.
