a quick and easy step-by-step to show you how to add eye makeup in photoshop

This tutorial will work for any edition or version of photoshop.

Step one: Open the picture you want to edit and click on the polygonal lasso tool.

Step two: Zoom in to get a good close view of the eyes, and use the polygonal lasso tool to carefully select around one eye, excluding the lash area.

Step three: Right click and pick "Select inverse."

Step four: Click on the brush tool. Turn the opacity down to something like twenty five percent. Open the color palet and select the color that you want to use for shadow. The three colors that look the best are dark red, dark indigo or blue, and black- which comes out greyish with the low opacity.

Step five: Open your brush shape selection. Depending on the size of your picture, pick one of the round default brushes with the faded edges. Go to you picture, and in one stroke, brush the color around the top of the eye. You can play around with the size and shape to find something you like. Repeat strokes until you get to your desired darkness.

Step six: Open the color palet again. Switch the foreground and background colors to save your shadow color, and select black in the very bottom left corner. Open your brush selction again, and chose a smaller round brush with the faded edges. Turn up the opacity to around fifty percent. Carefully go around the edges of the eye to make an eyeliner look. Repeat until you get to your desired darkness.

Step seven: Deselect the eye, and repeat the on the other eye.

Note: you can select both eyes at once, and do the makeup like that, but the results may not come out the same.
