There are hordes of shoppers that line up and seek to buy once the holiday gets over, and that’s where post holiday sale scams takes place.

Why people look to buy once the holiday gets over? It sound so strange, but that’s how things are. People are more interested to buy when prices fall down a bit.

They know prices will shade down a bit, and they can strike good bargains.

However you need to be careful, and avoid post-holiday sale scams.

Stores that sell cloths are the ideal place that customers need to check out, as these are most likely places that clients would face sale scams.

The stores that sell cloth items have over the period accumulated old stocks, even items that have some sort of a defect had also been kept aside. Now since the holidays are over, shopkeepers offer heavy discounts for two main reasons.

  • Firstly, they want to pushover the stocks that are old and have a defect, they offer discounts on the price tag, and customers are more likely to fall for it.
  • Secondly, shopkeepers also look to sell their leftovers, from the present holiday stock. They probably want to bring in new designs; hence they want to sell items through discounts.

How would you avoid falling prey to these sale scams?

  • Always check the designs, and make sure whether these designs are new ones or outdated. Leave the outdated ones, as it surely is a very old stock.
  • If you have no idea of a design, then go to a branded store. Even if the stock is old, you can be assured of good quality. A branded item definitely gives you a better value for money, even though the goods are discounted.
  • If you are not sure whether the discounted product is of good quality, make sure you get a proper receipt from the shop. You will find many shops unwilling to hand over receipts for discounted products. If you have receipts, you can always go back and claim your money, or can get an exchange.
  • Always look for labels on product that you seek to buy, food items carry expiry date. Never buy a product that has crossed the expiry date.

Follow these sweet tips, and you would do well to protect yourself from falling into sale scams.
