In the current climate of the credit crunch, more and more people are looking online as a way of making a little extra money. However this means that more people are falling foul to the scams that are about resulting in more scams appearing. Hopefully after reading this you will become more aware on How to Spot a Scam!

Spotting a scam is actually very simple and just involves following a few simple steps that would take no more than 20 - 30 minutes of your time.

Firstly do not believe everything you read and approach everything with complete scepticism, as this will act as your first line of defence against scams. Too many people get sucked in by a good sales page, get all excited and purchase a product on impulse. This is the reason most people fall for scams. The majority of sales pages of emormously over inflated with the promise of high earnings for little work.

Secondly search the web for information about the scheme/site or program. The simplest search to carry out is ' Scam' as this will bring you back search results where individuals have talked about schemes and the potential or fact of them being scams. However again, do not believe everything you read. As one of the latest tricks of the scammers is to create addition bogus sites that rank well for the terms scam so that you read it and they still tell you how good a scheme is and it is not a scam. At this point you need to use your head to try and weed out the real reviews from the fake ones. After doing this for a while you should soon be able to identify these quickly and easily.

Thirdly, Know about the Business! Many people join a scheme knowing nothing about the online business how it works or what it does. This puts you at an immediate disadvantage as you will have a steep learning curve to climb which will have a servere impact on your initial earning potnetial. Although they tell you how straight forward something is, if you dont have the knowledge then you will more than likely not success. So research the product fully, understand how it works, what you need to do to make it work and that you can actually do it! Chat to people on forums about it, learn from their experiance and try to get real information from then about the actual earning potential.

Fourthly, Undertsand the Ways the you can be Scammed! There are 2 main ways that you can get scammed on the web. The first being you pay for a product that does not 'Do What it Says on The Tin!'. That means you pay a subscription or purchase something that is a total waste of money. Second is you dont get paid! That is to say that you end up doing a month or two's work and you can see you account balance increase and increase only to find that when you request payout it does not come, they close your account, dont answer emails etc etc. If you have carried out your research well then you would have found if a company pays or not.

How to Get Started?

What I would recommend is that you start by trying out scheme that are free to join. This means that you will not have to pay for monthly subscriptions or software and you will be able to learn with minimal risk to yourself. Read review sites, as they will tell you what pays and what does not. At this point I am going to give you a single site to look at, it has a few tried and tested methods on it that have been checked and actually do pay. However owns the site has not put a massive amount of info on it, but everything that I have tried on it did pay me out. Spare Time Income

I would like to wish you good luck in making money online and hope that this article goes some way into helping not fall foul of the scammers.
