Low calorie sweet snacks
A few low calorie tasty sweet snacks for you to have without feeling guilty.
If you are trying to lose weight, having a sweet tooth can be a pain; it has meant the death of many diets for me. Whilst some people can do without sweet foods (I envy them) some can’t and sometimes fruit just doesn’t cut it. Here are a few low calorie sweet treats that you can eat without feeling guilty.
Sugar free Angel delight:
A serving of this tasty sweet dessert will only set you back on average 88 calories per serving (when made with semi skimmed milk)
And it comes in a variety of flavours such as butterscotch, chocolate and strawberry.
Sugar free Jelly:
Or jello, these contain on average between 3 and 9 calories per serving and come in flavours such as strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant and orange
Sponge fingers:
The crispy kind that you might put in a trifle, 4 of these sugary treats will only cost you 96 calories.
Mini milk:
These super sweet tasty ice creams are perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth. A chocolate one is 30 calories, a strawberry one is 31 and so is a vanilla one. They are creamy and delicious and you would never know that they weren’t bad for you!
Chocolate ice cream:
A “Fab”lolly is chocolate heaven, a chocolate centre, chocolate ice cream and chocolate coating all for only 82 calories!
Recipe:
This is one I make myself, and I love it! Simply get two 11g packets of low calorie hot chocolate powder, 200 ml of skimmed milk, mix the powder into the milk until it has completely dissolved. Pour into a leak proof tub and freeze for a couple of hours. You will have a low calorie iced milk dessert, that if I do say so myself is absolutely delicious! A 200 ml serving of this is on average 136 calories. You can use just one packet of hot chocolate mix, but the flavour is more intense if you use two.
You can also pour the milk mixture into ice-lolly molds and have it like that!
You get a wide variety of flavours, chocolate orange, white chocolate, Belgian chocolate and even fudge, all sweet and low calorie.
