Ideas to Clean Your Home Quickly

Get a garbage bag ready and make it a goal to fill it. This will help you get rid of unwanted things which you normally keep because you haven't felt like throwing them out, even though you never use them. As you go through your home, throw out all of that clutter.

Start in the rooms that you will be entertaining in. Put everything in a place. Notice that I didn't say to put everything in its place - because not everything has to necessarily be in the perfect place, just a presentable place. Feel free to put pots and pans in the cabinet in the improper order. As long as things are in the right area, you can go back and organize further later.

Clean any pet hair off of the couches and other fabric furniture. Your guests probably don't want pet hair all over their clothing.

If your floors need it, give them a quick wipe down with a Swiffer mop or wet paper towel, simply to pick up any obvious dirt or mess. You don't need to be totally thorough - just do the main rooms quickly.

Dust the main rooms quickly if they need it. Just grab a paper towel and dust the tops of furniture. Once again, there's no need to do this well, just get rid of the obvious dust.

Make sure your bathroom is presentable. Empty the bathroom garbage, make sure there is enough toilet paper, and make sure that your toilet and sink are clean enough that they won't scare your guests.

If time is running out, close the doors to rooms that you don't want guests to see, like bedrooms. That's your personal space and you do not have to make it presentable for guests. If you do have time, at least make sure that all of your laundry is put away and there's nothing on the floor.

When your guests are about to arrive, run that garbage bag out to your outside garbage can, and sit down and act like you've been relaxed and ready for hours.
