How to apply and sculpt your face with blusher

How to apply blusher

Blusher can give your cheeks a natural rosy glow, but it can also help to define your cheekbones, make your face look slimmer, rounder, or softer, the key is in the application and the blending.

Finding where to apply:

Stand in front of a mirror, hold your breath for 10 seconds, look into the mirror and notice where your cheeks have gone red, this is where you should apply. Another way is to smile and feel the plumpest part of your cheek.

Powder, cream or mousse.

Whether you chose powder, cream or mousse blusher should depend on your skin type, if you have oily skin, stick with powder. Dry skins can use a cream and normal skins look great with a mousse foundation.

Blending:

If you are using powder, apply it with a full medium sized brush in small circular motions.

Cream and mousse:

Dot a little onto the required place and blend in circular motions using the pads of your fingers.

Slimming the face:

Apply a small amount of blusher in a vertical strip down the centre of each cheek and blend thoroughly.

Lifting the face:

This can make the face appear lifted, more sculpted and younger. Apply the blusher high up on the cheekbones and blend thoroughly.

Softening the face:

To soften harsh features, simply apply blusher to the middle of the cheekbones and blend.

Accentuating bone structure:

Bring out your bone structure and cheekbones by applying blusher to the underside of your cheekbones and blending thoroughly.
