How to Change Your MySpace URL

When you open a MySpace account on MySpace.com, you create a URL, or a direct link, to your MySpace page. You could have http://www.myspace.com/ (whatever). Of course, if you created your page when you were dating Daryl, you might not want "saralovesdaryl" as your URL anymore. There are many reasons why one would want to change their URL (or their ID name), but every now and then, it's nice to change it up. But how, you ask? Here's how!

Step 1

First off, remember when you signed up how it said you could never change your MySpace direct link URL? Well, they're right. You can't. BUT, that shouldn't stop you from finding a way around it!

Step 2

One easy way is to make a new MySpace account. By doing this, you can create the URL that you want on MySpace, but without the hassle. Go ahead and create a new account with the URL you want, and then direct all your friends to hop over there. You could also add all your friends with your new account, and copy/paste your About Me info and whatnot to recreate the profile entirely.

Step 3

If you want to be extra snazzy, you can create an auto-forward on your old MySpace profile, which, when someone loads your page, it automatically loads up the new MySpace URL. This requires some serious knowledge of HTML and other programming language, so before you do this, do your research!

Step 4

And remember, when you choose a new MySpace URL, pick one that you know won't go out of style! ;)

Remember, when you create a URL, you can't technically change it. You can only make new ones. Save yourself the time and make sure you like the one you create the second time around.
