Father's Day Cards

What better way to give your father a card then a handmade Father’s Day card. Your father will surely love this from the heart gift. First you will need to gather a few supplies and then you can get creative.

Here is the list of supplies you will need for your handmade Father’s Day card:

Construction Paper or printer paper, letter sized 8 1/2 by 11inch (In the color of your choice to make the Card)

Pencil (To write your draft message and trace over it later with marker, crayon or pen)

Markers, Crayons, Pen, or Gel Pens (To write your message and decorate your card)

Stencils (To trace letters or figures)

Glue and Q-tip (can be a glue stick or the bottle type)

Extra Goodies:

Stickers, glitter, ribbons (decorate the card)

First you need to fold the construction paper or printer paper in half. Let’s say the color you are using is light blue. Take a moment to think of what you would like to write on the outside cover of your card. Generally a “Happy Father’s Day” is a good idea so that your father will know what occasion the card is for. You can use letter stencils for to write “Happy Father’s Day” on the front of your card or you can write it yourself using a pencil to ensure that you do not mess up the card. Afterwards, you can trace your letters using a marker, pen, or gel pens. You can decide to glue a picture of you and your father on the front cover of your card or save that for the inside flaps. Your father would be touched when reminded of the special times that you have been sharing.

After finishing with the front page, move on to decorate the inside of your handmade card.  What special message would you like to communicate to your father? Would you like to bring up a time when you and your father went on a camping trip, went to an amusement park, or would you want to be poetic and write a poem about the great father that he is? You can also tell a joke and be humorous. Whatever you do choose to say, your father would be glad to receive this card from you. After deciding what to write, repeat the process of writing in pencil and trace the stencils in pencil and then go over it with a marker or color pen.

Decorate as much as you like; use glue when you want to add glitter to your card. Pour some glue on a piece of scratch paper and then you can use a Q-tip to dab glue on various parts of the card, then pour the glitter on the card and drop the excess glitter onto another piece of scratch paper to reuse for another time.

And Walaah there goes your simple yet priceless handmade Father’s Day Card.
