Nature’s Medicine to Sleep
Most of us have had at least one sleepless night, but there is no comparison to the individuals who can’t sleep night after night.
Trouble sleeping? Approximately 30% of citizens within the U.K. experience some sort of sleeping problem at least once a week or more. Most of us have had at least one sleepless night, but there is no comparison to the individuals who can’t sleep night after night. While there has been a surge in prescription drugs available to solve these problems, you don’t have to turn to a potentially addictive drug to cure your sleeping problems. Breakthroughs in herbal treatments, herbal tinctures, natural remedies and flower remedies have provided people the option to use nature’s medicine instead of harmful prescription drugs.
Natural treatments are the most common forms of nature’s medicine used to address issues sleeping, and they often include the substance called 5 HTP. 5 HTP is the metabolic precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter that is formed from the metabolized amino acid called tryptophane, found throughout the human body. These increased serotonin levels help to create a more relaxed body state that is beneficial for a good night sleep. The most common form of this natural remedy is a capsule, making it an easy addition to your evening routine.
A less traditional, but still a powerful natural remedy, is derived from flowers. Among the most powerful flower remedies aiding in sleep today, is called the Griffonia. The Griffonia seed is created from a stout, woody evergreen found throughout the regions of Central and West Africa. The Griffonia seed has demonstrated the ability to raise serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that creates both a calming effect and the regulation of sleep within the human body. The Griffonia is only one of the many flower remedies used to resolve the issues of insomnia and sleepless nights.
In contrast to remedies that are administered in the form of a pill or capsule, herbal tinctures come in liquid form. They are made by soaking a botanical in a solution of alcohol and water. Another name for an herbal tincture is an extract, which may be a more familiar term. This process makes the powerful herb easier to absorb by the body. A Vogel Avena is one of the most popular herbal tinctures, derived from oat when the oats are just beginning to break into flower form. A Vogel Avena has been used for centuries in cultures across the world to aid in sleep.
Herbal remedies are similar to tinctures in concept, but they are not typically found in a liquid form. Herbal remedies have been used to treat a variety of health issues, including sleep, for centuries in cultures all over the world. When addressing issues associated with sleep, the Hop (humulus lupulus) plant has demonstrated tremendous results. The Hop is a small species of flowering plants that are found across the Northern Hemisphere. Most commonly recognized as a popular ingredient in beer, they are also known for their ability create a restful state, optimal for sleep.
Each of these remedies is a form of nature’s medicine. Whether you choose natural remedies, herbal remedies, flower remedies or herbal tinctures to aid with your sleeping problems, you are sure to have a better nights rest when they are added to your personal routine.
