Discrimination between the beauties and the geeks and the guys and the girls

Reality TV shows seem to have been the big fad over the past few years, and Beauty and The Geek is another show that comes under this category. This show started of in the US and much like The Apprentice is also came to this country, however of course in this country Beauty and The Geek never took off in the same way that The Apprentice did. However I will mainly be talking about the original and better version which is The American version.

Essentially this program has a very simply concepts. A group of beautiful girls the 'beauties' and a group of nerdy guys who are the 'geeks'. A girl from the group has to team up with a guy and each week one team will get eliminated and the final team that wins will get a cash prize.

This show has a moral aspect to it. The girls and guys are meant to realize that just because they come from completely different worlds from each other that essentially everyone is human and all the same. Initially in each series when the girls and guys first meet the girls do act repelled from the guys, as they don't act and look like their movie star boyfriends that they have probabaly had in the past. With the guys they generally act shy and make silly comments and it does seem that the girls seem to wear the trousers in all the relationships.

For each episode their is a task that the girls have to do and then a task that the boys have to do. The two winning teams then have to eliminate two teams that will have to fight it off at the end of the episode to stay in the competition. This is where the real catfight seems to come out from the girls and they just pick the girls they don't like and a lot of tension seems to build. The funny thing is the girls are meant to teach the guys how to be more social, but it is in these tense scenes between the girls that the viewers actually see that the guys get on a lot better and have none of these social problems. Ok they are not perfect chatting to beautiful girls, but then who is.

Overall this is a very good show, with a very good concept. It makes amusing viewing and will be around for a long time yet.
