Trusting God for the Impossible

Is there something in your life you feel is completely impossible? In this article, you'll quickly learn that what seems impossible to you is very possible to the God who loves you.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27).

By now, virtually everyone has heard of Susan Boyle who wowed the mesmerized panel of judges on Britain’s Got Talent. In watching the faces of the people in the audience just before she sang, virtually everyone thought, “Yeah, right! As if she can really sing! Get off the stage you crazy woman, it’s just not possible for you!”

I’ll bet that throughout her life, the 47 year-old Scottish singer was told she’d never be good enough or pretty enough to really make it. But look at her now! It turns out that what even Susan Boyle probably thought was impossible turned out to be very possible – and then some.

Do you have something in your life that seems so impossible, you truly feel there’s no way it can come to pass? If you’re like most people, the answer is a resounding yes.

I’d like you to take out your pen and a piece of paper and write down the things in your life that you feel are simply impossible. These can include:

  • “There’s no way I can get another job in this horrible economy.”
  • “There’s no way I can get married now that I’m over 40.”
  • “There’s no way I can hold on to my house with the mortgage payments as high as they are.”
  • “There’s no way things can get any better.”
  • “There’s no way I’ll ever get together with that person I really want to be with.”
  • “There’s no way I’ll ever make it in this world.”
  • “There’s no way I’ll ever find anyone to share my life with.”
  • “There’s no way I can ever feel better.”

Now that you’ve made your list of things you feel are impossible, I’d like you to take that piece of paper, crumble it up, and toss it in the trash can. Why? Because it’s useless. It has no bearing. And it doesn’t take into account the amazing things God can do in your life.

If you’re facing something that seems impossible today, pray. So many people think you have to pray in a quiet room on your knees. Nonsense! A personal relationship with Christ means exactly that – you can personally pray to Him and talk to Him and even bug him about your needs and desires every second of the day.

Pray for His answer to the things you believe are impossible in your life, and watch Him work. You’ll soon be amazed to discover what so many believers have learned: God can, and often does, the impossible, no matter how impossible  it may seem.
