A Frenchman born on November 12, 1947 in Paris, France Patrice has become one of the most well recognized film directors in the France nation.  His accolades stem from work he has been able to release from Les Veces Etaient de L’interieur which means (The Toilets were Locked from the Outside,”) to “1 Chance sur 2 (Half a Chance.)  Patrice who has been around the business longer than most has been able to support any if not all of the work he has been able to portray and release.  Like all of the films in which Patrice was known for the comedies that could stem from black, to dark, to even humiliating comedy seemed to catch the eye and interest of Patrice.

Taking on the interest of the film media at a very young age Leconte had made the decision to head to school at I.D.H.EC. which in France is considered as one of the most prestigious and well respected film schools.  After attending school for a number of years, Patrice later graduated in 1969 and continued on with the profession where he took some what of a turn and became a cartoonist for a French magazine called Pilote.  While trying to understand the media of this art form and its culture Patrice made a number of attempts to grasp his interest and style.  As he continued on with his education while attending I.D.H.EC. Patrice made frequent trips to Paris Cinematheque which helped and guided him to the understanding of the media and perhaps allowed and opened a door that would aid him in the decision making of what type of genre of filmmaking best suited his interest and style.

Like all other directors who take the time to be consistent and pay close attention to detail, Patrice had been able to perfect his talent and skill and later show his adversity to not be one dimensional and do just plain Jane comedies but  being able to mix up the style of any regular type of comedy, Patrice was able to provide and create a new type of  comedy that injected socialism.

Over the years Patrice has been considered as a jewel to the French as a director who has been awarded a number of accolades and has been recognized by his peers as one of the best filmmakers who cannot be stamped with a logo that says I am just a director who makes funny movies, but a filmmaker who knows the importance of the media and has open the doors for other filmmakers in general to reach their goals of achievement as well.
