Military Using Twitter
Tweet tweet twitter, yes it seems everyone including the military is using twitter.

As with many of you, I am also a member of a lot of social networking sites. Twitter and Facebook are two sites that seem to be rising to the top and quickly.
Twitter and Facebook are quickly becoming a household name and now even the military is taking advantage of the tweet of twitter as a recruting tool. They have recently joined Twitter and Facebook and are using these a way to get there messages out as to what the Military is all about and what you can expect if you join.
Our youth live in a virtual world and what better way to get your message across than to use these assets to bring in business. We as online bloggers do it all the time. The Military is targeting youth from the ages of 18 to 24. If you befriend a recruiter then they not only talk to you but also to the people on your friends list. The circle continues and grows larger with each person added to your friends list and to theirs.
As of right now the Army, Air Force and the Navy are promoting their branches of the service in this way. The Marines are using other sites to promote and as recruiting tools. The Coast Guard is updating their status message while traveling on Facebook.Right now there is a General that is serving in Iraq that is giving updates of missions and the happening in the sand box.
The Army sees Twitter as not only a way to get their information out but it also it has opened up another avenue they did not have before, chat! Video blogs on Facebook are also becoming more and more popular with the Military as a useful target generator to get out their information. Videos no matter what are right up there in the top to promote anything.
In this day and age our youth can relate to this method of promotion of the Military or to anything. Updates, videos and of course making friends is the new age of recruiting for our Governments Military reign.
