Animation Review - Gundam 00

Like other Gundam series, Gundam 00 revolves around war and the hope for peace. The Gundam 00 pilots are grouped together with other like-minded people in the hope to bring peace by eradicating war.The call themselves the Celestial Being.

The story started in after war timeline and interestingly, the world has used up all their fossil fuels which requires another source of energy in order to live on. Solar energy are being used for human in this timeline to continue with their survival. Middle East however are set in a spiral of decay as there are no more crude left. The nation holding on to the solar energy orbital pillar became the new order for the world.

War however still goes on as there are countries which refused to submit themselves to the 3 superpowers. Celestial Being which led by Sumeragi Lee comes in to intervene. The earth has become a new battle ground against these Celestial Being which they termed as Terrorist. The governement were then influnced by the corner family which is the observer for the Celestial Being. Another group of Gundams were created and they are known as the Trinity. These Gundams used false GN drives but is seemingly similar in terms of mobile suits performances.

In the story, the five Gundam Meisters, Setsuna, Allelujah, Tierie and Lockon each in their Gundam had elminated the corner family as well as the Trinity which were always around to make matter worst.Unfornately in the ending of the Gundam 00, Lockon was killed in battle against Ali Al-Sacheez. The person who induced Setsuna when he was young to join the KSPA, a Terrorist Militant group against governement and going around killing innocent people.

The storey did not end there as the new power emerged as the three governments unite into Earth Federation, The birth of A-Laws had brought more misery and death to more innocent people. But little did Celestial knows that the actual power behind the A-Laws is actually the Innovators. The new type of human race and has the power to led mankind.

Exia which were missing from the battle against Corner, appeared. It was five years later and the technology of A-Laws had improved tremendously with the false GN drivers. Exia were not able to fight with the A-Laws MS. Ptolemy which was nearby despacted Tierie to help and saved Setsuna.

Setsuna thereafter was given another Gundam to pilot. It is the more powerful Gundam 00 Raiser. Saji Crossroad joined in the battle as his love, Louise was found to have joined the A-Laws.The new Lockon, Lyle Dylandy is the real twin brother of the late lockon who succeeded the resolve of his brother to bring peace. Allelujah reunited with Marie in this season two series.

In the end (Last episode), the Innovators were elminated and Setsuna had 'innovated' into perfect innovator from human. Gundam 00 Rasier when turned into Trans-Ams mode and allow everyone within the affected area to communicate with one another. Allelujah died and his soul was imbued into Veda. Allelujah and Marie left Celestial Being to be together while Setsuna continue his quest to stop any potential wars ahead.

This is really a great series and personally, I think 00 is far better than Gundam W and Gundam Seed in terms of the plot and storyline set up.
