Prevention is the best cure. It is the best way to fight health problems. Since a long time ago, medical professionals have encouraged everybody to apply all the possible preventive measures to prevent the attack of a certain illness. Therefore we should apply them in the case of sinus infections. If you feel any change in your body, consult a doctor right away.

Aware of these sinus infection symptoms, so that you can already initiate the preventive measures:

1. Frequent colds
2. Frequent allergic reactions
3. Headaches
4. Increased congestion
5. Sinus pressure

When the infection is at the peak, the sinus will become more irritating so you should act right away on the attack of the symptoms. Don’t hold and you need to follow a certain prevention program. This may affect your daily diet. By starting on the program, you can bring down the risk of getting the infection.

Below are some preventive measures that you can start with:

1. Brushing the teeth is already your daily routine. Same goes to the nasal irrigation. It should be your daily routine.
2. Always keep the sinuses moist.  You can achieve this by using saline spray or you can also use a room humidifier particularly at night.
3. Do not take soda, tea and other iced drinks.
4. Get enough rest and do not exercise too much. This is very important especially if you are having an asthma attack or a cold.
5. Get enough daily exercise. Outdoor exercises like jogging, walking or running are some of the exercises which are good for increasing blood circulation.
6. The inflammation of the sinuses can be reduced in certain ways like inhaling steam with eucalyptus, taking frequent hot showers, and dissolving some papaya enzymes inside your mouth (especially between the gum and cheeks)
7. To keep sinuses from being stressed out, you have to prevent the allergy attacks. 5am to 10am is the time frame where allergy attacks normally happen. Thus, you can use air purifiers or vacuums to keep allergens at bay.

The above are ways to prevent the attack of sinus infections. By following them cautiously, you can live a sinusitis-free life. Sinusitis can be very irritating especially if it takes place so often. In addition, you can try home remedies that are proven to combat sinusitis. If you can prevent the infection, then there is no need to purchase any medication or natural cure for the sinus problem. However, if prevention as well as the home remedies doesn’t work, then you had better follow the advice of your doctor.
