Ever feel that recycling companies should acccept so many more items than they do? So does Origins skin care company. They are now offering free recycling of your old cosmetics packaging, including jars, tubes, bottles, caps, etc.

Did you know that ordinary packaging counts for one third of all landfill waste? That's why Origins is taking this step to help the environment - They recognize that most recyclers only take easily recognized items such as those with certain "recycle" symbols and numbers on them.

Starting March 29th, 2009, you may bring your old cosmetics to any Origins retail store or department store counter across the nation (excluding Nordstrom, Canada, and Puerto Rico) to participate in the Return to Origins program! They will also reward you for your committment to the environment by giving you a free sample of one of their Origins high-performance skin care products!

The best news is, you can bring in packaging from ANY brand of cosmetics, and Origins will be collecting the packaging to send off to a central recycling facility. There, all items will be recycled or used for energy recovery.  What a great way to help the environment and try a new product!

Remember to make sure that the items you are bringing in for recycling are as clean as possible, to aid in the process of efficient recycling.  Now, go gather up all those tubes, bottles, and compacts you've been saving with just a dab of life left in them, and head to Origins - you'll feel better for helping the environment and enlightened about new products!
