It was sometime in 1999, I had was in tenth grade. I was flipping through the channels, and stopped on my favorite music channel. The weekly countdown was on and I never missed it. Music was my life. I was like any teenager angry with the world. No one understood anything, no one even cared. No one knew what it was like to be me.  Especially the majority of the kids at school. Most of the people there didn't come where I came from. Most of the kids there would go on past high school, and had never seen life the way I had.  Nothing seemed fair, nothing seemed right I hated and blamed everyone and everything.  It was on this day that my life had changed forever. A new video release was coming up. It seemed to have a good beat, it was appearent it was a rap video, and then I seen him, my mouth dropped her dared? He dared to do what a few others had dared in the past and failed? He dared to break the code? not only the racial code, but in fact the code of rap itself.

Of course I'm talking about Marshall Bruce Mathers the 3rd, or better known to the public as Eminem or Slim Shady.
It was his debut song "My Name is" That had drawn me into his world. Even to this day the lyrics that drawn me completely, the ones that made me a fan of his for life, still flows through my soul to this very day.
" Hey kids do you like violence? Wanna see me stick "Nine Inch Nails" through each one of my eyelids? Wanna copy me and do exactly like I did? Try cid and get f'ed up, worse then my life is?....Well since age twelve, I've felt like I'm someone else, Cause I hung my original self from the top bunk with a belt."

It was like he was talking directly to me, almost like, he had known about my cousin two years previous, and I had thought to myself, if only he had came out then, if only my cousin could have heard his words, them maybe...

Wasn't long after that I bought his album The Slim Shady LP, like many other teenagers all over the world I used his music as a kind of release. It seemed to take away the pain, he connected to us, because he came from where we did. He had been there he knew what it was like. He wasn't afraid of censors, he didn't care what he said in his rhymes, he wrote what he felt, and it spoke to us.  I soon saw that other songs, of this Album had also called out. Basically telling us, that theres others out there, others just like us, feeling the same way. A few songs that had touched home. "Rock Bottom" for example. "That's Rock Bottom, when this life makes you mad enough to kill...when you want something bad enough to steal...when you feel you've had it up to here cause you mad enough to scream but your sad enough to tear...I'm a nervous wreck, I deserve respect, but I work a sweat for this worthless check...and my daughters down to her last diaper, thats got my ass hyper, I pray that god answers maybe I'll ask nicer...We all long to blow up and leave the past behind us, along with the small fry's and average half pinters..."

"If I had" "Life by Marshall Mathers, what is life? Life is like a big obstacle, put infront of your optical to slow you down, and everytime you think you've gotten past it, its gonna come back around and tackle you to the damn ground..."

As these songs reached as, so did his others, his darker songs. Ones that to the naked eye, all anyone could see was him saying he was angry, he blamed the world, he hated people. He lashed out at people who made him angry, people whom he blamed. Other stars, bands, rappers. Movie stars, Homosexuals any big news that was world wide, if something happened Eminem talked about it. No one was safe, he threw his rage on paper and the words cut in deep, no one was safe, not even his mother and wife.

"Role Model" "Mother are you there I love you, I never meant to hit you over the head with that shovel."

"My Name is"  "Ninety-nine percent of my life I was lied to, I just found out my mom does more dope then I do. I told her I'd grow up to be a famous rapper, make a record about doing drugs and name it after her."

"Guilty Conscience." "Okay thought about it, still want to stab her? Grab her by the throat, get your daughter and kidnap her? Thats what I did, be smart don't be a retard."

"97 Bonnie and Clyde" "Comon, Hai-Hai we goin to the beach, grab a couple of toys and let da-da strap you in your car seat. oh wheres momma? Shes taking a lil nap in the trunk..."

All over the world teen's were vibing to his music, while parents, support groups and public officals began trying to shut him up, end the non sense he created things began happening like Columbine High school Massacre, and Slim Shady came back into the spot light with The Marshall Mathers LP, and we his fans hung on to every word of the man, the only man in the world that went threw what we did, came from where we did and spoke out, it was him against the world, and he was no longer speaking to us, but for us as well.

"Stan" was basically a message to his fans, telling us not to take things too far that just because he writes about it doesn't mean he believes in it, and there for its right. His words aren't written in stone, and we shouldn't take it that they are. This most likely stemming from the fact that the Columbine High attacks, was blamed on the music the hitmans listened to. "I hope you get to read this letter, I just hope it reaches you in time, before you hurt yourself. I think you'll be doing just fine, if you relax a little. I'm glad I inspire you, but stan why are you so mad try to understand that I do want you as a fan, I just don't want you to do some crazy shit. I seen this one shit on the news a couple weeks ago, that made me sick. Some dude was drunk and drove his car over a bridge, and had his girlfriend in the trunk and she was pregnant with his kid, and in the car they found a tape but they didn't say who it was to.  Come to think about it his name was..it was you.. damn."

"Who Knew"  "I don't do black music, I don't do white music. I make fight music for high school kids...I put lives at risk when I drive like this I put wives at risk with a knife like this.....(Oh My God, Oh My God) I'm sorry there must be a mix up. You want me to fix up lyrics while the president gets his ---- Sucked?(ewwwww) ----that, take drugs, rape ----'s.Make fun of gay clubs, men who wear make up.  Get aware, wake up, get a sense of humor. Quit trying to censor music, this is for your kids amusement. (The Kids!) But don't blame me when little Eric jumps of the terrace. You shoulda been watching him appearently you ain't parents...So who's bringing the guns in this country?(hmm?) I couldn't sneak a plastic pellet gun through customs over in London.  And last week I seen a Schwarzaneggar movie, where he's shooting a sorts of motherf***ers with a uzi. I sees three lil kids in the front row screaming 'go' with their 17 year old uncle. I'm like gudiance? Ain't they got the same moms and dads who got mad when I asked if they liked violence?

"The way I am" "Oh its his lyrical content, the song guilty conscience has gotten such rotten responses. And all of this controversy circles me, and it seems that the media immediately points a finger at me...When a dudes getting bullied and shoots up his school and they blame it on marilyn...and the heroine. Where were the parents at? And look where its at? Middle America---Now its a tragedy, now its so sad to see, an upper class ci-ty havin this happen, then attack Eminem, cause I rap this way, but I'm glad cause they feed me the fuel, that I need for this fire to burn and its burnin and I have returned."

All eyes were on him that year, as he tried to prove that Slim Shady was just a alter ego, unleshing his dark thoughts, threw his lyrics. Things he would never do himself, and woudn't intentionally tell, anyone to do, and if they took it that way it wasn't his fault. He has made it clear to his fans if others didn't understand that then they weren't like us, because they didn't read between's Slims lines. In other words they took his Rhymes from face value, instead of the message hidden deep with in the beat. The relation and connection his fans and him had, that outsiders just wouldn't understand. Meanwhile he lyrically attacked those who spoke ill of him. Anyone again even his own mother who had recently filed a lawsuit against him for slander, and his wife, in which he wrote a prequel to 97 bonnie and Clyde called "Kim".
Slim Shady was top of the charts, dispite the anti eminem protests and requests to have his music banned, not realizing that all the while they were giving him more material, more things the lyrical genius could use.

As my High School days, and adulthood fastly approached I found that, the only thing that got me through when I was upset, depressed or disapointed was going into my room, laying on my bed in the dark, eyes closed listening to an Eminem Album. To the parents he was a nightmare, the government couldn't control him, and to the fans, he was the best thing that could have happened to them.

Silence had fallen, the angry blonde hadn't  been in the spot light for nearly 2 years. Rumors flew that he was finished, that the angry blonde had nothing left. He used up all his ideas, and had disapeared. Lots of things had taken place not only in the world, events like 9/11, the hunt for Bin laden and Biological weapons. Other things were happening, things with the angry blonde that had made the news. Everyone was talking about what happened. All of a sudden Eminem was on the news everyday, reports of court appearences.   Was Eminem really finished?

It had appeared, not. In 2002 another Album debuted. The Eminem Show. Eminem wasn't done at all with all the events in the last two years to talk about all the star gossip including his own, Marshall Mathers finally stepped up to have his say.  Teenagers everywhere, once again had another taste of the angry blonde, and seemed to understand his words a little better. He had something to say this time and he made sure everyone heard it.

"White America" "I neva woulda dreamed in a million years I'd see, So many mothaf***in' people who feel like me.Who share the same views and the exact beliefs. It's like a f***in army marching in back of me...How could I predict my words and have a impact like this? I musta struck a chord with somebody up in the office, cause congress keeps telling me I aint causing nothin but problems, and now they saying im in trouble with the government...I'm loving it I shoveled shit all my life and now i'm Dumping it on...Look at my self! Lets do the math, if I was black I woulda sold half, I ain't half to graduate from Lincoln Highschool to know that....When I was underground no one gave a f*** I was white, almost gave up I was like 'F*** it' Until I met Dre, the only one who looked past, gave me a chance and I lit a fire up under his ass, helped him get back to the top. Every black fan I got, was probably in exchange for every white fan that hes got...See the problem is I speak to suburban kids, who other wise neva knew these words exist....Straight out the tubes into your living rooms I came, and kids flipped...And they were instantly hooked right in. And they connected with me too because I looked like them...I'm a...Posterchild...the motherf***in spokesman...The ring leader of the circus of worthless pawns..."

"Square Dance" "Boo, the boogie monster of rap, yeah the man's back. With a plan to ambush this Bush administration, mush the senates face in, push this generation of kids to stand and fight for the right to say something you might not like. This white hot light that I'm under no wonder I look so damn sunburnt, oh no I wont leave no stone unturned..."

"Soldier" "Neva was a gangsta, till i graduated to one, and got the rep of a villian, for weapon concealin. Took the image of a thug, kept shit appealin...I love pissin you off, it gets me off...I'm a lit fuse, anything I do b**ch is news pistol whippin motherf***in bouncers six-two...I'm like a thug with a lil bit of pac influence...don't in your life ever try to knock the truest...listen to the sound of me spillin my heart through my pen, you motherf***ers know I'll never be Marshall again, full of controversy till I retire my jersey, till the fire inside dies, and expires at thirty..."

"Saying goodbye to Hollywood" "I thought I had it all figured out I did, I thought I was tough enough to stick it out with Kim, But I wasn't tough enough to juggle two things at once, I found myself laying on my knees in cuffs...I just sold two million records I don't need to go to jail...This is not a game, this is fame, in real life this is sick...I love my fans but...I've sacraficed everything I have...I never dreamt I'd get to the level that I'm at this is wack, this is more than I ever coulda asked...I sold my soul to the devil...I'll never get it back...all I wanted was to give Hailie the life I never had but instead I forced us to live alienated..."

"Sing For The moment" "its f**ked up ain't it, how we come from practically nothing, to being able to have any f**kin thing that we wanted, thats why we sing for these kids who don't have a thing but a dream and a f**kin rap magazine, who post pinup pictures on their walls all day long, idolize their favorite rappers, and know all their songs..or for anyone whos ever been through shit in their lives till they sit and cry at night wishing they'd die, til they through on a rap record and they sit and the vibe we nothing to you but we're the f***in shit in their eyes..."

Eminem also Showed us another side of him, the one who hides behind Slim Shady. The real Marshall Mathers, in a song dedicated to his Daughter. "Hailie's Song" "My baby girl keeps getting older, I watch her grow up with pride. People make jokes cuz, they don't understand me, They just don't see my real side. I act like shit don't phase me, inside it drives me crazy, my insercurites could eat me alive. But then I see my baby, suddenly I'm not crazy, it all makes sense when I look into her eye's..."

After that he went from music to movies. Making "8 Mile" losely based on his rise to fame. After that Eminem left the spot light again rumors flew of retirement, Then in 2004, He crushed those rumors once more with "Encore" but what now? Would he have what it takes anymore? Over the years, of his vacaction, his fan base grew up. The weren't High School Students anymore, they were adults. All in their early twenties, and focusing on "the real world" now.  Would they return with him? Would New high school students, catch the same worm on the line as the old ones? They sure did.

Once again, Eminem had proven him self "The King of Rap". by lashing out at the world, and putting his personal life into the rhymes.

"Evil Deeds" " Woe is me, there goes poor Marshall again, Whining about his millions, and his mansion and the sorrow hes always drowning in...And the dad he never had, and how his childhood was so bad, and how his mom was a dope addict, and his ex-wife how they go at it..."

"Never Enough" "When I hit the heavenly gates I'll be cool beside Jay-Z, for every single die hard fan that embraced me. I'm thankful for the talentin which god gave me, and I'm thankful for the environment that he placed me. Believe it or not I thank my mom for how she raised me, in the neighbourhood daily they jumped and chased me. It only made me what I am today see, Reguardless of what anybody believes who hates me. You ain't gonna make or break me..."

"Like Toy Soldiers" Has know became a haunting song, as if someway some how Marshall predicted the death of Deshaun(Proof from D12) "There used to be a time when you could just say a rhyme. And wouldn't have to worry about one of your people dieing." Months later the video was released for this song, which showed Eminem covered in blood, standing in a hospital, watching them trying to save his best friend Deshauns life, in the video Deshaun dies, which visual shows us, how much of a nightmare it would be for em, to lose another close friend.
In April of 2006 Deshaun Holton was shot to death out side a detroit night club, making Em's  worst nightmare come to life.

"Mosh" Em Speaks to his fans, about Bush and the war. "Let me be your voice, and your strength and your choice.Let me simplify the rhyme just to amplify the noise. Try to amplify it, times it, and multiply it by sixteen million people are equal at this high pitch. Maybe we can reach Al Qaeda, through my speech Let the president answer a high Anarchy. Strap him with a AK-47,let him go fight his own war. Let him impress daddy that way.No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on our own soil. No more Psychological warfareto trick us to thinking that we ain't loyal. If we don't serve our own country we're pantronizing a hero. Look in his eyes, its all lies, the stars and the stripes have been swiped. Washed out and wiped and replaced with his own face. Mosh now, or we die. If I get sniped tonight you'll know why, cuz I told you to fight..."

The Year Following "Encore" Eminem released "Curtain Call" A greatest hits album in which he released one new single. "When I'm gone" "I get the point fine me and mommy are goin, But baby wait-Its too late dad, you made the choice now go out there and show em that you love em more then us, thats what they want...I hear applause all this time I couldn't see, how could it be that the curtain is closing on me? I turn around find a gun on the ground, cock it, put it to my brain screamin die shady and pop it...Thats when I woke up...its spring and Hailie's out side swingin, I walk right up to kim and kiss her tell her I miss her.Hailie just smiles and winks at her lil sister almost as if to say--"

Eminem hid in the shadows for many months following the death of his long time friend Deshaun Holton better known as Big Proof. His remarriage to Kim Mathers lasted only a short few months before he filed for divorce again. Rumors began circulating about him, that he was in a state of depression and shock. That he gained alot of wait and was over 200 pounds in his mansion. No one quite knew what had become of Marshall Mathers. His Ex-wife was supposed to have said that for a while he even stopped coming around to even see Hailie, he just with drew from everything including his pride and joy, the one he went this far for...his daughter.  Rumors spred he was done, that the loss of proof hit him hard, and from the lyrics of toy soildiers they believed Em blamed him self. That some how he pushed the fate, by making that song, that some how karma caught up to him.
Then Rumors had circulated that, Eminem was working on a new album. Later it was confirmed by fifty that Em, was making one although he was denying it to the public. Then finally, Em, did decide to tell the world he was working on something and it was almost done.

The fans went nuts both old and new. Now here is where we at, its April 2009, and "The King of Rap" Has finally returned, almost as if he was being reborn. It is exactly ten years, since we heard his talent for the very first time.
Now in his mid-thirties, his original fan base close to 30, and the ones that caught on after nearing 20, does Eminem still have what it takes?

You bet he does! He's got alot to talk about this time, alot more has gone on in his life, and you can bet he will share his views on that as well as the events that have unfolded since, his last appearence.
The ablum is named, as in sequence to his previous albums. "Relapse"  You bet he will answer what he was doing when he was hiding out, why and what.

The Single "Crack a Bottle" has been released, which has all of Em's talent and past experience from his other albums, however it seems a little more upbeat? Almost as if the angry blonde...isn't as angry as he used to be.
Almost as if hes seeing things in a whole new light.

There has also been a video release recently "We Made You" Again as the first, it is the same eminem, the same style, but still it is like the last few years have changed his life forever, and that reflects his music.

How will Eminem be seen after Relapse, only better the he  has ever been before.

You can find the complete Lyrics of these songs and others on sing365.com You can hear most of Eminem's song's including, Crack a Bottle and We Made You, on youtube.com.
