Few things in this world hurt like a broken heart. It's the blow that you never see coming. Accept what has happened and don’t be afraid to ask for support from those who love you and are there for you.

Relationships run their course for a reason, to be able to truly move on, you have to accept what happened to turn the relationship sour. Be honest with yourself about why you broke up, take time to heal, and move forward. When you come to terms with the breakup, then you no longer feel anger or sadness. In the first couple weeks the best thing you can do for yourself is not be where you know he or she will be.  Put or give away anything that reminds you of the relationship. Put them out of sight so they will be out of mind until you are able to remember the relationship without longing for it to still be going strong.

Healing a broken heart requires change, break your old habits and build new ones. Open your heart to the possibility of loving again. Life goes on; it does not stop because your heart is broken, and neither should you stop because of it. Allow yourself to let go and mend from sadness and loss. As you begin to accept that your relationship is over you can begin to look forward instead of living in the past. Go out with a totally different kind of guy. These guys can really take your mind off your ex by helping you explore the many totally different personalities of men you never before considered.

When you begin looking forward, you'll find that you have all sorts of opportunities to enjoy friends, family, and interests that you may have put off to focus on your relationship with him. While you're wondering if you'll ever feel happy again, put yourself in situations with positive people who remind you of reasons to be happy, you’ll figure out that you're going to be okay. As time goes by and you are starting to feel good again, the person that is going to re- emerge will be the new and improved version of you.
