Passion is the Essence of Success How to Be More Efficient in a Stressful Environment

Happiness is very hard to define because the perception that people have about it varies from human to human. Some of them consider that money bring happiness, others find it in the moments they spend with their families and friends. But there are a few those who are happy doing their job.

It was difficult for me to establish what I liked most. I like music very much, but I am a terrible singer. I love paintings, but I wasn't there when talent was being administered.

School hasn't helped me decide what to do. I was good at mathematics, but sometimes I managed to write amazing essays for the English class, so I was still in dilemma.

When I was in high-school, everybody was thinking what college to apply to. I remember listening to their plans, sharing their enthusiasm but still having no clue about what had to be done next. I decided to go to the college my mother had suggested, but I wasn't thrilled about it.

So there I was, in a new and crowded city, away from my parents, my home and all the things I was used to.
For the first time I felt free to do whatever I pleased. And I decided to become a hair stylist. It was an unknown passion of mine, which I had discovered when my mother had first asked me to color and fix her hair for a party.
I knew that my parents wouldn't be happy about it, so at first I decided not to tell them about my plans. School was going on well, I had enough time to take styling lessons and I was very happy about it.

Sometimes I was amazed of my own imagination and skills. Using professional tools and dyes was very helpful, all my clients were very happy with my work and they kept coming to the hairdresser I was practicing at.
After a few weeks, I had a diploma that enabled me to have, my own hairdresser.

Because I had passed my exams with high marks, I thought the time had come for me to tell my parents what I had achieved. I admit I was a little afraid about their reaction, but they were more than happy to hear that their daughter had thought about doing something useful with her passion. My father offered to help me open my own hairdresser.

It's been five years since then. I am a successful engineer, but in the afternoon I become the talented hair-stylist which helps her clients change their look and improve their lives by becoming more self-confident. Now I have even more friends than I did before and they come from other cities just to get their hair done. Some of them have suggested I started make-up lessons. And I'll think about it, because being a make-up artist sound like even more fun.

I have a little piece of advice for those who are uncertain: listen to what your mind tells you, but decide by using your heart.
