Astrology and Compatibility: Who Do You Like?
While you really need to have your astrology chart to get accurate compatibility ideas, there are some general tips that may help you decide that you were right to break up with that last guy/girl.
The truth is that real romantic compatibility as well as other types of compatability such as professional, friendly and familial relationships cannot be strictly read by just sun sign astrology. It only makes sense that not all people born on the same day are alike, not even if it's the same year in the same city. What good astrologers do to tell real compatability factors is to cast the charts of the two people and compare all the aspects to one another. At the next broadest level astrologers will tell you to compare the woman's Venus placement with the Mars placement of the man.
However, for fun and for the purposes of this article, we will make some generalizations on sun-sign compatibility in the areas of love, passion, friendship, professional and family relationships. Most people who follow sun, or star-sign astrology as it is sometimes called, have a general idea of which signs are most often in their lives in prominent places and which signs they do do best with as well as the ones they struggle with. This can be based on whether the other signs are cardinal, fixed,
Do you love your job yet want to call in sick nearly every day? You have an incompatible sign for a boss. Is it easier than breathing to love one of your children while another tests yours limits everyday? Another incompability in the stars perhaps that you can work on understanding and overcoming. Does someone try very hard to be your friend but, as bad as you feel about it, the relationship just never clicks for you? Have you had wonderful friendships with partners that fizzled out in the bedroom? Great sizzling sex with mates you could never call a friend?
Astrology compatibility can help you understand and work at overcoming all of this.
Here is a brief outline for each sun sign of your best and worst compatibility ratings for other signs. Here are the signs and the dates they fall:
Aries Mar 21 - Apr 19
Taurus Apr 20 - May 20
Gemini May 21 - June 20
Cancer June 21 - July 22
Leo July 23 - Aug 22
Virgo Aug 23 - Sept 22
Libra Sept 23 - Oct 22
Scorpio Oct 23 - Nov 21
Sagittarius Nov 22 - Dec 21
Capricorn Dec 22 - Jan 19
Aquarius Jan 20 - Feb 18
Pisces Feb 19 - March 20
Which do you want first, the good news or the bad news? How about the good news:
First of all, those born in signs that are next to each other share Mercury and/or Venus links that may make them compatible. These planets are never far from the sun in a person's chart. Adjoining charts may also have their Moon, Marts, other planets or rising signs in the next-door-neighbor's Sun sign which gives them more traits in common. You feel a kinship and understanding with these people. Some astrologers like to say that the sun sign directly behind us are our students, and the one ahead of us are our teachers.
Here are the sun signs most astrologers agree are compatible in general (not counting aspects.):
ARIES goes with Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini and Aquarius.
TAURUS goes with Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer and Pisces.
GEMINI goes with Libra, Aquarius, Aries and Leo.
CANCER goes with Scorpio, Pisces, Taurus and Virgo.
LEO goes with Aries, Sagittarius, Gemini and Libra.
VIRGO goes with Taurus, Capricorn, Cancer and Scorpio.
LIBRA goes with Gemini, Aquarius, Leo and Sagittarius.
SCORPIO goes with Cancer, Pisces, Virgo and Capricorn.
SAGITTARIUS goes with Leo, Aries, Libra and Aquarius.
CAPRICORN goes with Virgo, Taurus, Scorpio and Pisces.
AQUARIUS goes with Libra, Gemini, Sagittarius and Aries.
PISCES goes with Scorpio, Cancer, Capricorn and Taurus.
The sun signs may be broken down to the four elements. The fire signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius. The air signs are Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. The water signs are Cancer, Pisces and ScorpioA. The earth signs are Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn.
What the above compatibility chart is simply saying is that Aries gets along with fire and air, Taurus with earth and water, Gemini with with air and fire, etc. Our elements need nourishing or we can feel claustrophobic, unable to breathe, buried alive, drowning, penned in, etc. The feelings are very well. Haven't you ever said of someone that you felt they were suffocating you or such?
So, of course, the opposite case is true for the worse combinations. Aries' nemesis is Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces. They feel their fire is drenched by the water signs and buried by the earth signs. Although it operates on a much more subtle current than that obvious statement. Think about it.
If, for example, you are an air sign, say Libra, and you work in a cement office cubicle without art, paint or windows for a very picky and critical Virgo boss you just aren't going to last too long on the job without asking for some environmental and personal changes to keep your sanity. You must be surrounded with beauty to live, even if it's only a small window that looks out on a little growing tree or you are given permission to hang a favorite picture or painting over your desk. And your nit-picking boss must be made to understand, gently, that you honestly do win more favors with honey than with vinegar. The delicate temperament of a Libra just can't take day-in and day-out criticism without some compliments once in a while. And if Libra's spouse is a crusty old "I rule the world" Leo who gives her no say in the relationship, she is going to just call it quits because she won't have the heart after a while to make it work. And if she has two children and one is a lovely little air sign, say an Aquarian, who lives in a world of ideals and dreams, and the other is an ultra-moody Pisces who requires constant attention and needs his ambitions stimulated all the time, this mother is going to have to make peace with this child's astrological constitution.
