Dengue is an infectious disease of the tropics transmitted by mosquitoes and characterized by rash and aching head joints. The following are the immediate measures one can take to treat the dengue fever.

  • Seek Health Care

When a person starts experiencing rash and aching joints, it is advisable to have plenty of bed rest, drink lots of fluids, and take pain-reducing medicine such as Acetaminophen but not aspirin.

  • Maintain the Patient’s Circulatory Fluid.

It is advised by physicians and nurses that when infected by dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), high maintenance of the patient circulating fluid should be taken care of to save life.

  • Replace Lost Fluids

If in any case a person is infected with dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), the patient is advised to replace all the lost fluids while others will need transfusions to control bleeding.

  • Maintain Adequate Blood pressure

Infected patients should be treated with great support and care in hospitals, such care includes intravenous fluids and electrolyte replacement in order to maintain adequate blood pressure and replace blood loss.

  • Take Medical prescriptions.

Ensure that the patient is treated by taking the anti-pyretics like paracetamol, hence pain in bones should be treated by analgesics pain killing tablets as prescribed by the doctor.
