A friend of mine wanted to write a review for a podcast we were talking about. Much to my surprise, she was confused and frightened of the iTunes store. Even though she had an iTunes account, she didn't know how to leave a review. This oddly upbeat article will navigate you through the iTunes store so you can leave feedback.

Earlier today I urged a friend of mine to write a review for a podcast we were talking about. Much to my surprise, she was confused and frightened of the iTunes store. Even though she had an iTunes account, she didn't know how to leave a review. This friendly and oddly upbeat article will navigate you through the iTunes store so you too can leave feedback.

Step 1. Open iTunes and click the iTunes Store option on the left hand side.

Step 2. The iTunes store will eventually load. Click the Sign In button in the upper right hand corner. Type in your Apple ID and password. If you don't have one, click the Create New Account button.

Step 3. Now that we're signed in, let's find something to review. If you're looking for something specific, just run a search in the upper right hand corner.

Step 4. Click on the item you'd like to review. This Double Feature podcast looks like a light heated romp, so let's try that.

Step 5. About half way down the page you'll notice a link that says Write a review. While you could just rate the item, let's click the link and actually do a full text review.

Step 6. The iTunes Store page will bring up a form for you to fill out. This is where you get to play critic. Enter the rating, a nickname for yourself, the title of your review, and the review itself. Click the Continue button to verify what you wrote. If you're sure there aren't any mistakes, submit the review.

Step 7. If your review goes through successfully, you'll see this prompt here. Click the Done button and browse off into the store.

Additional Tips

  • Apple looks over all the reviews before they actually post them. It usually takes a day or so for your review to show up.
  • iTunes reviews help the items in the store move up in popularity rank.
