Discover six secrets to sell more jewelry at your next craft show.

If you market jewelry through craft and jewelry shows, you know how high you overhead can be. With exhibitor fees being so high, you have to sell alot of items to make the show profitable. Wouldn't it be nice if you could make more profits at jewelry shows without additional effort? One of the best ways to do this is to increase the number of add-on sales. You can do this by having a number of impulse items near your checkout station as well as scattered throughouit your jewelry show display. Here are some suggestions:

1. When a customer purchases a necklace, suggest a pair of matching earrings or bracelet that coordinates well with the item they've chosen. Show them how nicely the two items go together and how the add-on item can benefit them. Offer a small discount for the add-on item to encourage the sale.

2. Sell jewelry care items at your booth such as jewelry polishing cloths. Customers are always in need to items like this and they tend to be inexpensive impulse purchases. When you ring up your customer, ask if she'd like to add a jewelry cloth to care for her new piece of handmade jewelry. Those small additional sales can really add up!

3. Sell jewelry nuts in several sizes the fasteners (that fit on the back of post earrings). People often lose these and are looking for replacements. You can also sell the little rubber stoppers that go on the ends of fish hook earring wires to prevent them from being lost.

4. If you have pendants or large hole focal beads in your jewelry line, sell a variety of chains and neckwires that customers can use to display the pendant they purchased from you. I sell a simple sterling silver neckring at jewelry shows and have found them to be quite popular and quite profitable!

5. Sell bottles of silver cleaning solution and tarnish remover. Almost everyone has silver jewelry at home that needs to be cleaned. This can be a big seller.

6. Sell small jewelry boxes and jewelry organizers. Make sure what you offer is unusual and distinct from items you can find in a retail store. There are many jewelry lovers who collect unique jewelry boxes.

I'm sure if you use your imagination, you can come up with lots more add-on items to market at jewelry shows. When you tally up your sales at the end of the day, you'll find these add-on items can make a big difference in your profits. Why not include some add on items in your booth at the next jewelry show you attend?
