First and foremost this list is compiled by me by surfing websites and researching the best swimming pools from around the world. There might be other pools that are as nice as those on the list, so if you don't agree with a few of them a comment will be appreciated for my future updated list.

La Mamounia (http://www.mamounia.com)
The azure pool within Marrakech's most prestigious hotel feels like a desert oasis. Towering palms surround the water, which is kept at 75F. Guests can lounge about on teak furniture outfitted with soft cushions. For lunch, the poolside Restaurant Les Trois Palmiers serves a buffet with dozens of exotic treats. Waiters supply cool drinks. The hotel was built in 1923 in a blend of ornate Moroccan and art deco styles. This was one of the places for foreign dignitaries to stay at that time. Sir Winston Churchill, an avid artist as well as a statesman, set up his easel and painted here on the grounds. I was lucky enough to just see the exterior of this hotel while being on a photography assignment.

Gran Hotel La Florida (http://www.hotellaflorida.com)
Overlooking the city below is the hotel's 37 meter indoor-outdoor swimming pool. It is made of stainless steel. There is a spa here as well.

Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc (http://www.edenroc-hotel.fr)
The Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc's saltwater infinity pool is carved into the edge of the French Riviera's rocky coastline; sunbathers have their choice of terraces nearby. Since the hotel opened in 1870, it has been practically a synonym for glamour. F. Scott Fitzgerald based his descriptions of the Hotel des Etrangers in ‘Tender Is the Night' on it. The list of other famous guests here includes Sophia Loren, Johnny Depp, Naomi Campbell, Fred Astaire, and Cher.

The Bristol (http://www.hotelbristol.com)
Nobody expects to find an indoor pool built to look as though it is inside a teak yacht on the roof of a hotel in the center of Paris. Yet, here it is, an architectural original. In case you are not really feeling it, one wall is covered with a mural of nattily attired people on the deck of a 19th century yacht sailing along a rocky coastline.

Copacabana
A small wall buffers this seawater pool from the breaking waves of the Caribbean just 12 steps away. The pool itself was built in the sea and has been enveloped by a structured formation.

Beverly Hills Hotel (http://www.thebeverlyhillshotel.com)
Stars, agents, and other movie types have been lounging and making deals here for years. Within the green striped cabanas, you will find fax and phone service. And there are butlers available to attend every whim.

The Datai, Langkawi (http://www.thedatai.com)
Guests can choose between two pools at this resort on the island of Langkawi. The larger one is at the top of a hill surrounded by the jungle. The second is close to the beach and the turquoise water of the Andaman Sea.

Palazzo Sasso (http://www.palazzosasso.com)
The swimming options are seemingly endless at this stunning old hotel on the Amalfi coast. The main pool, which is heated, is outfitted with underwater windows that overlook the Mediterranean. Guests can also swim in one of the many plunge pools.

Las Ventanas al Paraiso (http://www.lasventanas.com)
The infinity pool at this resort on the tip of the Baja Peninsula seems truly to melt into the Pacific Ocean. At night, light from within the pool itself and from torches nearby creates a magical atmosphere. I was lucky enough to stay at this resort and it is good to mention that it is not ridiculously expensive like most of the hotels mentioned in this list.

Ciragan Palace Kempinski (http://www.ciraganpalace.com)
Landscaped by a palace, the two pools here are stunning and exotic, befitting the legacy of the Ottoman Empire. One is indoors; the other, outdoors.
