Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Out of Twilight Series?

For now the die hard fans of the first Twilight movie will get at least one more chance to see the cast they fell in love with together again, but will this be the last time?

With the news of Disney buying the Twilight series swirling around much speculation has been made about the safety of the main characters' roles for both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson if in fact Disney does buy out the rights to the hit saga.

Many people feel that changing the face of the characters would make it hard to identify with anyone else playing the lead roles, especially such established stars as Miley Cyrus and the Jonas brothers. The reason Twilight worked so well was because they used an actor and actress that the people were not already familiar with. If Disney did in fact buy Twilight's rights and place Miley Cyrus and the Jonas brothers as the movie's leads it would bring together 3 major audiences to create a mega following. Could you imagine combining the Twilight market with those of Miley Cyrus and the Jonas brothers? It's said that if these 3 markets were to jump at the same time it would knock the earth off its orbit. The problem here is that Disney wouldn't have the complete Twilight market as many of Twilight's older readers and fans do not want to see the movie they already fell in love with to be scrapped out by Disney's young talent.

There is still a lot to be determined as of right now. The buyout is only a rumor and with a price tag of $1 billion just for Disney to acquire the rights I would imagine that an agreement will take some time to sort out. With so much to be determined if Disney takes over one thing seems absolute. Disney does not want to make a twilight movie with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. It's rumored they feel this way for two reasons. First, Disney wants to make the Disney production of Twilight their own meaning they would start at the beginning of the story with a fresh new cast as if the first movie never happened. Second, Disney wants no part of Robert Pattinson after his performance in "Little Ashes" were he preformed nude having graphic gay sex with another nude man and this is not the image Disney wants associated with what could be its all time biggest project.

For now the actors are safe as they are currently filming the second installment of Twilight "New Moon" so the diehard fans of the first Twilight movie will get at least one more chance to see the cast they fell in love with together again, but will this be the last time?
