Do you need help putting photos on Ebay? I will walk you through the basics of taking photos and uploading them.

Choosing a digital camera is not a big deal. You don't need to spend a fortune, but the very small mega pixel ones don't work. Mine is a 6, and I had smaller ones to start with. They did not take satisfactory pictures to upload to Ebay. We had a problem finding a camera with software for Windows NT, which we had at the time we purchased one. This one did, or we would have gotten a more elaborate one. Check the system requirements on the package before you buy.

If you have a new computer, like my new laptop (Finally! YEAH!)You don't need software to download your pictures. Vista has a accessory or built-in software to import pics...it pops up when you plug in the camera. That is what I use. If you should desire the software that came with your camera, you can still download that. The main thing is that you need some photo-cropping software. I use what is on Vista. You need to set up a background for your Ebay photos. I use black background, when possible, because it looks best on Ebay. I have an old black velvet piece we drape over a chair. We sometimes place a small cardboard box underneath to create some levels and depth, and to have something to kind of prop the item on. If black doesn't work, we substitute the white one. You are going to crop the picture, and it doesn't really matter what else is around the chair. When you are taking pictures, do not place it on a zoom in setting, but just bring the camera closer...this works best. Experiment with both flash and no flash, but most of the time no flash works best. When I use the flash for a real close-up, it gets a white glare. After taking your pictures, Plug in your cord as directed, and hit import. Remember the camera has to be on to import pictures to the computer. Disconnect camera and turn off. To crop and fix your pictures, open your picture software and click on FIX. Using the cropping tool first, crop as closely as you can. Then you can either use auto fix or use the specific tools. What I usually do is use the Lighting and contrast buttons....I usually have to bring down the lighting and I raise the contrast a tad. Sometimes Auto fix works....play with it and experiment. When it is right, save o an easy to find file. When you are on Ebay and doing your listing, there are two picture options. One is a basic, and the other has some edit tools. I use the second one and hit auto fix. Sometimes I have to UNDO. But this usually gives me a good end product. You can do more pictures than you intend to use, and just delete them after they are on there and you see which looks best ... but once you actually LIST it with EBAY, you pay for the number you list. If you are listing in collectibles, antiques, or art, you have unlimited pictures. I take advantage of this and list as much as I can in those. Collectibles has many categories.  I will give you my Ebay link and you can look at my pictures. I sell collectible toys.

One last thought; Be sure and get rechargeable camera batteries and a charger.  These digital cameras seem to EAT batteries.
