Poem: Forgiveness Isn't a Fairy

Forgiveness isn’t a fairy,

To wish for at a whim

This trait has no wings,

Nor does it have a limb

To attain forgiveness, there’s no pixie dust involved

Nor does it require a problem to be solved

Like humble pie, it’s available to eat in full amount

But there is no need to make a specific count

People like Peter Pan or Pinocchio cannot attest

Of a virtue that looks like a tiny pest

No spells or magical incantations will sway

The forgiver to pardon the “forgivee” any day

Forgiveness is more like a superhero, nonetheless

With a cape of truth, prompting a need to confess

Clarity, peace and love are its weapons of choice

When forgiveness speaks, almost everyone knows its voice

God even provided a model through His Son

Without it, we wouldn’t truly know anyone

Closing:  We all deal with forgiveness in our lives, at one point or another and in different ways.  This is a natural part of maturity as human beings with souls and emotions.  I pray that each and every reader of this little poem will consider and reflect upon Christ's forgiveness and love of all humanity.  God bless!!
